To check for a free ChatGPT Plus trial, sign in to your own account at chatgpt.com and open the upgrade screen. If an offer appears, read its terms and check the amount due today before you accept. The screenshot below shows a one-month offer on one account. Your account may show a different price, duration, or no promotion.
How to claim a Plus offer if it appears
- Sign in to the account you want to upgrade. Open the plan or upgrade screen and look for the offer wording.
- Read the offer terms. Confirm the promotional period, the amount due today, and the price and date of the first renewal.
- If the offer sends you to checkout, make sure the expected discount appears there. If checkout shows a charge you weren’t expecting, stop and review the terms.
- After activation, open your subscription settings and verify the plan and next billing date. Keep the confirmation for your records.
What if your account does not show a free offer?
Offers can have eligibility conditions. OpenAI lists prior subscriptions, past promo use, expiry, region, and payment methods as reasons a promotion might be unavailable. If you received a code directly from an official partner, follow that partner’s instructions. If you simply don’t see an offer, you can continue using the free plan. Check renewal before you confirm
The screenshot’s example shows $0 for one month and a $20 per month renewal beginning December 4, 2026. Those are the terms visible in that example. Use the billing date and renewal price displayed on your own account. OpenAI says subscriptions renew after the promotion unless canceled and advises canceling at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid an unwanted charge.
For a web subscription, open ChatGPT’s subscription settings and use the manage or cancel controls. If you subscribed through a mobile store, manage it through that store. OpenAI notes that access from a free promotion may end immediately if you cancel early. Check the effect before confirming.
Where should I enter my login or payment information?
